How can this be possible.? Seeing two of the best folk acts around for free. Tickets to see Vikki Clayton are normally anywhere between £15 and £20 and tickets to see Paul Mills : Simply Donovan, Dylan, And, Me are normally between £12 and £15 so this Sunday you are in for a treat and a real bargain. Vikki Clayton is one of the best and most successful female folk singers this country has produced in the past forty years. She is of course well known for her work with Fairport Convention she first came to prominence when she was part of the cult folk band Ragged Heroes. Ater departing that band she went on the forge a hugely successful solo career she has recorded and released nine critically acclaimed solo album the most successful and popular was “ It Suits Me Well- The Songs Of Sandy Denny “ that album includes the classic Sandy Denny song “ Who Knows Where The Time Goes” she still includes that song in her set these days. Vikki Clayton is loved revered and respected by folk music fans all over the UK indeed all over the world.
Paul Mills : Simply Donovan Dylan , And, Me . There a quite a few Dylan tribute shows touring in the UK but surprisingly I don’t know of many Donovan tribute shows doing the rounds. Paul Mills folk themed tribute show Simply Donovan, Dylan, And Me has really taken off since its formation just under two years ago. The two hour show sees Paul paying homage to two of the world’s most famous folk singer’s Scottish troubadour Donovan and the legendary Bob Dylan. Paul sings Donovan’s biggest hits “ Catch The Wind”” Jennifer Juniper “ “Colours” Hurdy Gurdy Man” “ Yellow Mellow” and Sunshine Superman. The Dylan hits you get to hear Blowin’ In The Wind, Knocking On Heavens Door, Like A Rolling Stone, Don’t Think Twice It’s All Right , Forever Young, Mr Tambourine Man, Lay Lady Lay, and more. This is one show no lover of folk music Donovan or Bob Dylan fan will want to miss.
